ORLANDO GUITAR TOWN (PART 3)

Over the past two weeks there were two final events for the ORLANDO GUITAR TOWN.
First, the last public display of the guitars at Lale Eola on April 26th.....

Then Came the Gala Auction....

This past Thursday, May 7, the guitar artists, and music and art enthusiasts, attended the Orlando GuitarTown’s last gig. Ending on a high note, bidding on the 72 hand-painted Gibson Guitar sculptures, attendees helped raise more than $175,000 for local charities; the Downtown Arts District, Page 15, the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness, and the Parramore Kidz Zone.

Following the auction was a special performance by the
BLUE MAN GROUP!

SEAKING OF GUITARS....

I was at Island Music today, andmy friend Sam showed me a few guitars he was appraising:
a 1936 Gibson ES-150
and Gretsch Chet Adkins Nashville Model (probably 1957-65)

JOE COCKER & FLEETWOOD MAC In Concert

JOE COCKER
WMMO Downtown Concert Series
Orlando
Sunday April 19th, 2009

As WMMO's Elise Rossi said at the end of the concert, this was by far the best this series has presented yet. I've been to about 10, and I agree, all of them have been great, but this was by far the best!

FLEETWOOD MAC
Amway Arena, Orlando
Monday April 20th, 2009

It was just as worth the 30 year wait to see this next act on the next night! Fleetwood Mac look and sound as great as they ever did. I do miss Christie McVie in the band, but then again I've always favored Buckingham-Nicks so it worked out.

My wife and son loved the show too! Special thanks to Bill for the tickets.
